The Results Are In: This Is 2018's Most Sought-After Bag Brand
Infiltrating the world of It bags is no small feat, especially when you're going up against arm candy heavyweights deeply rooted in fashion history (think the likes of Chanel, Gucci and Chloé). Which is precisely what makes the accomplishments of this particular brand all the more impressive. It may have been born 2015, but 2018 has certainly served as Los Angeles–based cool label Staud's breakout year. Having won over the Insta-set with its Bissett bag (a structured bucket with a minimal silhouette and chic top-handle), Staud went on to create a plethora of perfect handbag iterations, most of which have gone on to achieve the same cult status. So much so, Staud is officially one of the most searched-for bag brands of the year—an accolade it so deserves.

There are many reasons for its success. Naturally, the designs have to be on-point, as does the quality—both of which Staud has down. However, there's no denying that the sweet price-points have helped spearhead Staud's behemoth evolution. For example, the Shirley bag has an asking price of £190 and the Bissett (one of the more expensive options) £390, whilst newbie Alice comes in at £320. By no means a frivolous purchase, but it's one that's aspirational and attainable. While Staud has plenty of clothes we're also pining after, its bags will always have a special place in our hearts. Keep scrolling for our pick of the best Staud bags. All you need to do is decide which style to invest in first…
BISSETT
The Bissett bag is arguably the piece that kick-started our obsession with Staud. We first clocked it back in 2017, but its timeless silhouette and classic choice of colourways ensure it'll never, ever go out of style.
BRITT
Forever exploring new fabrics and finishes, Staud's Britt bag is a homage to its Bissett bucket, only with a playful canvas-tie handle.
GRACE
Easily Staud's fanciest bag, Grace will give any ensemble the after dark treatment. Choose from weather-proof patent or jewel-toned satin.
ALICE
One of Staud's newest styles, Alice has gone straight to the top of our wish lists. As if the mock-croc finish and exaggerated top handle weren't enough, we can't get enough of the built-in mirror fixed into the lid's interior. So bougie.
MADELINE
Inspired by the 1960s, wear this cute crossbody with miniskirts, natty knits and heeled loafers for serious retro appeal.
MOREAU
As one of Staud's most stand-out bags, we spotted the Moreau more times than we can count during Fashion Month. In fact, you can't go to any industry event without seeing at least two in the room.
EDIE
The Edie borrows many of the Bissett's characteristics, but its angular body makes it look authentically vintage. Try wearing yours with a satin tea dress.
NIC
The squat shape and padded top handle give this could-be vintage bag a cool spin. Plus, cow print is going to be a major spring/summer 2019 trend (you heard it here first).
MINNOW
Cylindrical bags are one of 2018's microtrends, but we see big things in their future. Invest in a cool cream or colour-pop hue to give any outfit a playful twist.
VITTI
Similar in shape to the Bissett, but the zipped lid makes for a more secure arm-candy option.
SHIRLEY
Another favourite amongst the fash pack, the Shirley bag is actually a two-in-one. Use the inner pouch as a clutch, or go see-through by carrying the tote on its own.
