I'm a Beauty Editor—When I Want to Look Chic, This Is the Nail Colour I Choose

It's first thing in the morning and I'm sat on the sofa typing away. I'm wearing my fluffiest socks and wrapped in my warmest blanket. Yep, autumn is officially here. Despite feeling the cold, there are lots of things I love about the colder seasons. Wearing my favourite oversized coats, burning my winter candles and sipping on warm cups of hot chocolate are just a few things that come to mind, but top of my list? Red nails.

You might be thinking, 'Can't you wear red nails all year round?' Absolutely! But for some reason, I always go back to this chic shade in the autumn and winter months. I don't know whether it's because I tend to wear darker colours, so I feel as if red adds a nice contrast to my outfits, or because there's something festive about the manicure trend, but what I do know is that whenever I wear red nail polish, I always get compliments on how expensive my nails look.

This year, I predict that the red nail-polish trend will be bigger than ever. Not only does the hashtag #rednailpolish have 36.5 million views and counting on TikTok, but the colour has been seen all over the runways this Fashion Month. There's no denying that red is an absolute classic, but what I love about the colour is that it suits every skin tone and nail shape imaginable. Not only that, but you can totally tailor this trend to suit you.
