I'm Not One for Copying Outfits, But These 9 Instagram Looks Are Perfect
I'm not sure if it's the fact I haven't treated myself to anything new in a while or that we're currently navigating that awkward period where the weather can't seem to make up its mind between cold and freezing, but lately, I've been feeling stuck in a style rut. However, with winter well underway and spring a glimmer of hope on the horizon, I think it's high time I pull myself out of my self-induced fashion funk and allow myself to get excited about a new year, and a few more months of cosy knits and luxurious layers.
Instead of buying a host of new pieces, I first want to shop my own wardrobe. I've been living in floaty dresses and linen shirting for months, so I know digging out my autumnal pieces will help my style feel fresher in a flash. But how to style them? I've been saving chic influencer winter outfits on my Instagram for weeks now, and there are nine standout looks that I can't wait to try—most of which I'm pretty sure I can assemble with pieces I already own.
Scroll below to see the outfits fashion people are wearing right now, along with current shopping options for each should you find something you want to invest in that you mightn't already own.
1. Stripe Knit + Tailored Trousers + Loafers

@cocobeauteaStyle Notes: Breton-stripe knitwear is about as timeless as fashion gets, particularly when it's paired with black trousers and loafers.
A timeless piece to treasure forever.
These sleek trousers can be styled for work, free time or evenings out.
2. Blazer + T-Shirt + Miniskirt

@astyleeditStyle Notes: Thought mini skirts may not feel synonymous with autumn and winter, this is a look that can be translated to all seasons. For cooler days add tights, or go without when the sun makes an appearance.
This will also look great with jeans or tailored trousers.
3. Padded Jacket + Wide-Leg Trousers + Boots

@aniyahmoriniaStyle Notes: Winter = cold. I hate the cold. The antidote? A cosy and chic padded jacket. Extra points if you blend the rest of your outfit to match its colour.
4. Longline Blazer + Slip Skirt + Mules

@monikhStyle Notes: I live in blazers year-round, but I think they look their chicest in winter, worn essentially as tops for elevated evening looks.
5. Long-Sleeve Dress + Knee Boots
Photo:
@ali_tate_cutlerStyle Notes: Long sleeves on dresses are a winter no-brainer, as they'll keep you toastier, even when temps drop. Apply that logic to your legs with a pair of high boots.
6. Trench Coat + Roll-Neck Knit + Jeans

@oliviafaehStyle Notes: Is there anything more timeless than a trench coat worn with a black roll-neck knit and jeans? I think not.
A green trench is just as classic as typical beige.
A must have for these colder months.
7. Knitted Co-Ord + Knee Boots

@thandimaqStyle Notes: Just like dresses, co-ords make getting ready and styling a look so easy, as the hard work of choosing what to pair something with is already done for you. In terms of shoes, you can't go wrong with some knee-highs.
8. Suit + Trainers

@salome.moryStyle Notes: Get significantly more wear out of more formal suiting by styling it with a basic vest top and kicks for a chic off-duty ensemble you can wear from autumn through winter into spring.
9. DENIM JACKET + LEATHER MIDI SKIRT

@sylviemus_Style Notes: There's an instant elevation that occurs when contrasting textures are combined, and this denim and leather look is a fine example. On chillier days, layer a jumper under your jacket, although the knee high boots will add some insulation.
