The Surprising Shoe Trend Celebrities Still Wear to the Airport
If there’s one thing I’ve learnt this year, it’s that 'airport style' is most definitely a thing. Traditionally, long-haul dressing was all about comfort but nowadays our favourite celebs know that a stylish travel outfit can be just as impactful as a red carpet look.
And while you might not be jetting off to the same destinations or events as the celeb pack, it doesn't mean you can't still dress to impress on your next flight (or even train journey!). When it comes to nailing travelling in style, there are few things that celebrities always seem to rely on, like a large tote bag, sunglasses, great denim and easy layers. But you might be surprised to know that chic celebrity airport looks also always feature an unpredictable footwear choice: Heels.
From heeled ankle boots to strappy, barely-there sandals, the inspo is endless when it comes to what type of heel celebs are wearing at airport security and beyond. Style icons like Amal Clooney and Kate Moss have thrown their trainers and uggs to the side in favour of heeled boots, while the likes of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jessica Alba have opted for a classic heeled shoe.

1. KNEE HIGH BOOTS

Style Notes: Amal Clooney kicks off travelling in style with her expensive looking knit dress. Her Christian Louboutin knee0high boots are sold out but go for a style that hugs the leg for a similar silhouette.
This colour screams chic. Add a trench, blazer or even chunky cardigan over it for added warmth if you're travelling in winter.
Russell & Bromley's boot selection is one of the best out there right now.
2. WHITE STILETTOS

Style Notes: White pumps work so well when they are like Alba's: Minimal and mid-height, with dark denim and a muted colour palette. Everything about her look is considered and chic and we are here for it.
Frankie Shop's striped shirts are second to none.
White pumps are a classic style that will go with everything in your wardrobe.
3. SUEDE ANKLE BOOTS

Style Notes: Queen of airport style Kate always gets it right. Keep it classy in head-toe-black and pack an extra t-shirt in your carry on to pop on when you land to avoid any creases.
Grab this in a size up for that perfect relaxed fit.
The chunky heel will make these a dream to strut through arrivals with.
4. STRAPPY HEELS

Style Notes: Keep it comfy when wearing denim and follow Anne's lead with a relaxed flare, adding a squishy quilted jacket and a pop of colour with kitten heels.
I'm a big fan of these jeans. The fuss free wash means they will go with everything.
Yep, they're going to go with everything I already own.
5. TAN ANKLE BOOTS

Style Notes: A lesson in how to wear flares, when it comes to VB she never gets it wrong. She favours teaming her's with a round or almond toe chunky heel boot to help balance out the silhouette. If you're not a fan of a chunky heel a wedge boot would work just as well.
Brighten up your winter wardrobe with this cord blazer.
These would look great paired with everything from midi dresses to straight leg denim.
6. TOE THONG SANDALS

Style Notes: Rosie knows you can't go wrong with a trench-coat and slick accessories. Go for a pared back toe thong style sandal, they always look so much more expensive than they are IRL.
These bags are the perfect carry on.
It's the minimal design that does it for me.
