I Wish I Were Getting Married This Year so I Could Wear All of These New Pieces
Is it bad if I tell you that, after scrolling through the new bridal collections, I may have, for a second, contemplated divorce? If only so I could remarry this summer with a whole new wardrobe. Okay, maybe that’s extreme (vow renewal it is), but seriously—have you seen the new MatchesFashion wedding edit? Not to mention the new offerings from Kitri (one of Who What Wear UK’s favourite high-street alternatives), Warehouse’s new bridesmaid-come-bride collection and Sleeper’s new silks. Honestly, 2020 brides, you’re spoilt for choice.
The fashionable bride is definitely having a moment, and it’s no longer reserved for the upper echelons of the industry who can spend thousands on an Insta-friendly dress. According to Katya Zubarieva, former fashion editor and now one half of Sleeper’s founding and design team, told Brides.com recently, “The world of wedding fashion has changed over the past five years. … Women of our generation are increasingly choosing garments in favour of comfort and personal style.” After all, when else are you going to have the budget to justify buying a cream Christopher Kane two-piece?

@hannahalmassiWhether you’ve opted for a traditional gown for the day and are looking for something a little more fun for the evening, hunting for some unique accessories to add a twist to your dream dress or considering heading down the aisle in something a little different altogether (Who What Wear UK’s editor in chief, Hannah Almassi, went straight for an off-the-runway Proenza Schouler look above, forgoing any traditional try-ons), this year’s capsules have you covered.
