I have never fantasised about what I will wear on my wedding day—big princess gowns and heavy lace have never appealed to me, so I could never picture it. I am getting married this year, and when I started searching for a wedding dress, I was really surprised by how many things I found that really felt like me. Bridal fashion has never been as cool or fun as it is in 2022. Designers are now targeting those like me who want something a little less traditional. The pandemic has also changed the wedding landscape—some are sticking to intimate micro weddings, and others are making up for lost time with four-day extravaganzas with multiple outfit changes. This means brands are now creating “wedding wardrobes” and playing with textures, embellishments and silhouettes like never before.

I have found my dress, but my Instagram algorithm is still constantly targeting me with shoes, dresses, veils, you name it.
